Weather Arrangments

In general, Ocean Park remains open in inclement weather, as we have many sheltered areas to protect visitors. However, in extremely adverse conditions such as when the Hong Kong Observatory issues a rainstorm warning or tropical cyclone signal, special Park arrangements will go into effect. Please refer to the list below to see the arrangements that correspond to each such condition.

For safety reasons, Ocean Park may suspend certain rides and shows during inclement weather. Visitors should call our enquiry hotline at (852) 3923 2323 for information about our current weather arrangements.

Weather Warnings

Amber Rainstorm Warning
The Ocean Park will remain open but some outdoor mechanical rides may be suspended.

Red Rainstorm Warning
The Ocean Park will remain open but some outdoor mechanical rides may be suspended.

Black Rainstorm Warning
If the warning is hoisted during the operating hours, the Park will remain open with limited operations.

If the signal is in effect prior to the opening of the Park, the Park will delay opening for a minimum of two hours after the signal is lowered with the possibility of limited operations. The Park may remain closed for an extended period and the re-opening is subject to the Park's condition affected by the rainstorm. Guests can check the updated opening arrangements on Ocean Park web-site or via Enquiry Hotline at (852) 3923 2323.

Tropical Cyclone Signal No.1
The Ocean Park will remain open but some outdoor mechanical rides may be suspended.

Tropical Cyclone Signal No.3
The Ocean Park will remain open under normal circumstances with all outdoor mechanical rides suspended.

Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 or above
If Hong Kong Observatory announces specific hoisting time for Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 during Park operating hours, the Park will suspend admission ticket sales two hours prior to the hoisting time. Besides, the Park will be closed in the shortest time subject to the clearance of guests in the Park.

If the Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 or above is in effect prior to the opening of the Park, the Park will delay opening for a minimum of two hours after the signal No.8 is lowered with the possibility of limited operations. The Park may remain closed for an extended period and the re-opening is subject to the Park's condition affected by the typhoon.

If the No.8 signal or above remains hoisted about six hours before the Park closing time on that day, Ocean Park will remain closed for the day. (e.g. The Park closing time is at 20:00pm, and the Signal No.8 is lowered at 14:00pm, the Park will remain closed the whole day.)

Guests can check the updated opening arrangements on Ocean Park web-site or via Enquiry Hotline at (852) 3923 2323.

Cable car system may be suspended subject to wind speed.
